Building Davao City block by block, then draping real UP NOAH flood-hazard data over 21,000 rooftops.
Experimental · Urban scale
Exploratory model - not an official hazard map. Flood layers are legacy DOST–UP DREAM / Phil-LiDAR 1 products published around 2017 and do not reflect later construction or flood-control works. Building heights are model estimates, not surveys. This shows hazard, not risk, and is not accurate for any individual building - verify with your LGU and current official maps before any decision.

About this scene

A block-scale experiment: every building footprint in a ~5 km window over downtown Davao City, extruded in 3D and coloured by whether it floods.
Flood hazard - UP NOAH / DOST Phil-LiDAR 1 flood-hazard maps (10 m), served live from the DREAM LiPAD GeoServer as WMS tiles. 5 / 25 / 100-year return periods.
Buildings - 21,046 OpenStreetMap footprints, extruded with height estimates from Google Open Buildings 2.5D (Temporal, 2023; effective resolution ~4 m). 87% receive a model-estimated height (median ~5.5 m, capped near 98 m); the remainder use a footprint-size fallback. Google notes alignment drift, tiling artifacts and potentially larger height errors in the Global South.
Imagery - Esri World Imagery. Ground is flattened to the delta (30 m SRTM is too coarse under a dense city).
Story - Davao City spreads across the delta where the Davao River empties into Davao Gulf. Its riverside barangays - Bankerohan, Matina, Agdao - sit lowest and flood repeatedly in heavy rain. The 100-year layer traces the floodplain along the river and the low coastal fringe.
